The challenge
Two bar associations set out to preserve something that had never been captured on film: 70 years of trailblazing women lawyers who fought for equality in Dallas and beyond. The material — decades of memory and dozens of interviews — was rich but sprawling. They needed it shaped into a feature that would honor its subjects, move audiences, and stand up to the scrutiny of statewide recognition, on a tight eight-month timeline.
What we did
Alex Garcia Topete produced, wrote, and directed the feature — shaping decades of memory and dozens of interviews into a cohesive, moving story and delivering a screening-ready documentary that read as broadcast-quality. Working closely with the associations’ leadership as executive producers, we handled the film end to end, from narrative structure through final delivery.
The outcome
The film won the 2025 State Bar of Texas Star of Achievement Award, and the partner association earned a national Outstanding Member Program Award for the project. It screened at venues including the USPTO’s Southwest office and bar association events across Texas.
“Now look at everything that we’ve done. So I think that it gives people hope for a better tomorrow.” — Kandace Walter, Managing Attorney, Walter Legal (Texas Lawbook)
What it shows
We turn an organization’s history and mission into award-winning film that earns recognition and moves stakeholders — exactly what a brand or institution needs when the story matters.
