One studio, many crafts
Jacob Wurzer and Alex Garcia Topete founded Nowadays Orange in 2011 with a simple conviction: the right story, told well, can make the world better. What began as a media production company grew as partners Elizabeth Ann Stewart and Ross Stewart joined and the work expanded — into award-winning documentaries and series, a data and strategy consulting practice, and a Labs division building digital products. Different crafts, one mission: to make our world a better story.

A writer, filmmaker, and strategist with 15+ years across film, television, and digital media in the U.S. and Mexico. Lone Star Emmy® winner; developed for Sony Pictures Television; produced for NPR; PhD in Arts, Technology & Emerging Communication.
Jacob Wurzer
Co-Founder & Partner
Brings a passion for business, engineering, and film, and has collaborated with Alex on projects for years — including as executive producer of Vamps, Blood & Smoking Guns. A UT Dallas graduate in both business and electrical engineering, he founded student network UTD TV and today works as an engineer in the oil industry alongside his film work.
Elizabeth Ann Stewart
Partner
A writer-director, producer, actress, and voice talent based in Dallas–Fort Worth and Los Angeles. Crewed on 140+ projects; co-runs Stewart Media Digital, a corporate photography/videography practice, with her brother Ross.
Ross Stewart
Partner
A Dallas-based photographer and videographer who, with sister Elizabeth Ann Stewart, has shot 800+ corporate and event projects. Shot and edited the cinematography for The Realty | Risas en Venta.
