The challenge
Film festivals and media nonprofits generate a lot of audience data — ticketing, submissions, streaming views, social engagement — but it usually lives in three or four systems that don’t talk to each other. Programming decisions run on instinct, and sponsor or grant reports get assembled by hand every year, often too late to be useful.
What we’d do
- Consolidate ticketing, submissions, streaming, and social data into a single dashboard
- Build real audience segments — repeat attendees vs. first-timers, submission geography, genre engagement
- Package a sponsor- and funder-ready impact report that updates itself instead of being rebuilt from scratch every year
- Train staff to read and update the dashboard without needing an analyst on call
The outcome we design for
A programming team that can defend next year’s lineup with real numbers, and a fundraising team with an impact report that reflects the festival’s actual reach — not a copy-paste of last year’s guesses.
Why Nowadays Orange specifically
We built this service because we sit on both sides of it. Nowadays Orange is also a working, Emmy®-winning film and media studio — we’ve submitted to festivals, built our own streaming audience on Algo Media, and reported our own reach to funders and partners. We know what this data actually means to the people making programming and fundraising calls, not just how to build a dashboard.
